Hi Steve,

Having just had our 2 puppies microchipped, we paid £12.50 each. It really paid to ring around a few vets in our area as the price was different at each one.

Sorry can't help on your other questions.

HI Steve, don`t know if you saw a recent post about a Lab who had been missing for 18 months, he was identified and reunited with his rightful because he had a microchip Very Happy

Same sort of thing with my CJ to, altho thankfully he was only missing for 4 days, so chipping is a good thing to do, I know one or two pups do seem to have a problem with them being injected, ie: they may bleed, but a small moment of pain is worth it I think for knowing that you have a better chance of getting your pup back she it go missing.

On the whole its not painful for them, rather like their vacs and boosters, never seem to feel it, as for cost, I think that varies depending on area but usally around £20 - £25 Smile

I`m not sure but think there`s just the one subs cost now, that gives you full access to everything on the site as far as i know, but those that have recently subscribed will know for sure Smile

Hi Steve

We got Rolo chipped by the Breeder when we picked her up and it cost £18 ... done in seconds, not even a slight whimper from her, dont think she even felt it (it is just like a quick injection between the shoulder blades).

As to membership here, I can highly recommended it as this site has been totally invaluable to me as a first time puppy and lab owner.

I went for the platinum membership mainly because I wanted the lovely t-shirt Laughing

Charlie was microchipped well over two years ago now. From memory you could be looking at around £20 - £25 mark from a vet, though it does vary a bit. Also, in our area the dog warden often does chipping for £15. May be worth enquiring about. Its just a shame I did not find that out until after I had had Charlie done. Confused

I have platinum membership of this site (if my memory is correct there too Embarassed ). I took it because I liked the freebies that came with it, and the difference in price is really not that great.

Helen.

First thing we did when we had Hally was had her microchipped - from memory it cost around £25 - Clover came from the breeder chipped - costing me £11 Very Happy but whatever the cost, it is most definitely worth doing. I recently, through LL, got to know some people who had lost a lab locally - he wasn't chipped - so even when they 'suspected' they may have known where he was, it was very difficult to do anything about it Sad

Thanx ppl.
Have a vets appointment tomorrow (routine check up) will ask if they can can chip sascha there and then.
As for the subscription question that was very much tongue in cheek , i had a problem over christmas with sascha (diahorrea) that my wife and i were very worried about and if it wasn,t for the sound advice i recieved from ppl on this site ,would have been straight down the vets incurring substantial costs .So i guess the small outlay probably pays for itself 10 times over
ps really im not that much of a skinflint Very Happy

Worth every penny id say, we were lucky and the breeder chipped her as we got her but here where we live its about£20-30 pounds.
Subscribe is also well worth while as its fun and most of all gives advice and you can talk about what you are going through

Best of luck with your pup
