Hello all, I have a 4 month old male yellow lab named Thor. We were given Thor as he is unilaterally deaf. He is a very sweet pup though. I have seen so much info on this site, it looks great!
Here is a picture of Thor

Hes lovely, Welcome to LF!
Shep (black lab x in pic below) is also deaf. His is due to old age rather than anything else but comunication isn't a problem at all..infact I still talk to him and forget he's deaf sometimes! Rolling Eyes

I talk to Thor all the time as well, he hears some sounds but can't locate where they are coming from. He was born with ear problems and we finally have the bacterial infection gone and are still fighting the yeast infection that is in both his ears. I am fairly new to labs. I have always had boxers and have a male and a female boxer now with Thor. Labs are definately different!

Try giving Thor live yogurt to help with the yeast infection. Something to do with helping the good bacteria in the gut fight bacteria and yeast??? I'm not sure how often (no less than once a week). I give my two live yogurt all the time! with banana (this acts as a pre biotic, like food for good bacteria) It certainly wouldn't do any harm anyway!
