Hi there
Fingers crossed about the Sheffield lead.
Caroline, I have also come another lost dog website and I have sent your details to them so they can publish your information:-
http://www.lrsec.org.uk/
This is the site of 'Labrador Rescue South East and Central'
I sincerely hope this helps

Rhoni
I don't think you were, unless its world breaking news or breaking news in your local area to get something to go national you really have to blanket/flood the media and even then only a small % of the media will take up the story.
Even locally I have seem times when I have sent out Press Releases and nothing gets printed or aired. It very much depends on the news that day.

Oh no no Rhoni I really want to help too, but I am a minion here and we tried to get the News room to cover a story on a horse that died at a Windsor Horse show and they didn't even respond to us!
I just had another thought actually, Channel Five news are based here where I work and I have the email address - I could contact them directly? They might cover it. I just know the Sky News guys just might not respond to my suggestion. But then it is worth a try. I could send an email to both.
Just a bit scared that's all......

Hi Everyone - just got in from work and read all the last posts and you've made me cry again! Your generosity in wanting to help me find my boy is totally over whelming - thank you all so much. Ok, pulling myself together - what have I done so far in my search - ok, here goes. I wrote to over 1000 vets in surrounding counties sending them a poster and description of his epilepsy in case a new dog was registered showing his symptoms; I have flooded all local areas especially dog walking areas with posters, and helpers from other areas have also put up posters; I've contacted ALL Dog wardens, local highways, Rescues, Lost Dog Sites, Kennels, anything Dog related in fact on the internet, have scoured all profiles of aol members who mention dogs as a hobby asking for their help; he has his own web page; is listed on ebay; I've been on Radio Solent and Local Reading Radio; Meridian have run a short news story on us and have just filmed me for a half hour documentary on dog theft which will be shown in July/August; Together with 11 other owners of stolen dogs we put together a 'multi-dog' poster so we could get coverage of all 12 dogs over a bigger area, am now in the process of producing a 'postcard' with 5 others which can be given out at dog shows etc; we've put an advert into the Veterinary Nursing Times which has a nationwide coverage of 16,000 and will run next month and am also emailing as many local businesses as I can find online and asking them to put a poster up. Oh, and myself and another victim of theft are putting together a new website aimed at helping draw together rescues, wardens, and owners of lost dogs. Phew!! Think thats everything. Course problem is that it is mostly local - have struggled to get National coverage as I don't have an interesting enough story! Have toyed with the idea of finding a sympathetic celebrity, but have shyed away from that challenge so far! I'm pretty sure Rolf Harris lives in Maidenhead (not far from me), and also Paul O'Grady who is an obvious animal lover. Sorry this is so long winded, but thought if anyone can come up with anything else then let me know! Thanks again, love to all, Caroline x
