Both my two are chipped.

Just wondered Bailey was chipped at 1st vaccination. Sara they wouldn't do until 2nd Jab or when i have her spayed! she was done at 2nd jab!
Is that a new thing or is it just my area

Glad Jem is back with her family Very Happy

Can I just add to this one, and bump it up again, Rhoni

A bump on this subject is always good for me.......after all I am the one who bangs and and irrates everyone with my tattooing etc posts lol

There can NEVER be enough education and advising to owners about both the legal, social and practical need for ID

Appears thoughts on this vary around the country...Tilly was chipped at 2nd jab, Beth the first ( and she was tatooed at 7 weeks.....) All I do know is that the earlier the pups are ID'd the better, for obvious reasons. Some breeders ID their pups before they leave them.

I have frequently come across dogs with no obvious ID attached. Almost always the owner is there, but on this occasion this dog had managed to slip out of a side gate and then out onto the open road.

A very affable owner when I eventually found him, but all he really said about the lack of ID on his dog was "Oh, he never goes far". Shocked Confused

I don't think you can necessarily rely on that.

Helen.

A very affable owner when I eventually found him. Seemed genuinely taken aback and embarrassed that the dog had got out, but all he really said about the lack of ID on his dog was "Oh, he wouldn't go far". Shocked Confused

Maybe he normally wouldn't, but I don't think you can necessarily rely on that.

Well...if on his ' never goes far ' journeys he is picked up by a warden, depending on the warden....he might get a once off warning up to a court appearance and a fine.

The conitations from this are huge.......owner not picking up poop £1000 fine........not in control of your dog in a public area.........causing an accident.........biting a child........or itself getting hurt....obviously the later is the heartbreaking one, but the former is liability's to the owner....
