Anthea i dont believe boredom has anything to do with destruction, dylan was rarely left on his own,and he still is destructive even with me at home,if i move him to another room he starts there,he is a lot better since his op,but no way is it boredom related, and i agree with the cage,i did not do it as the trainer and vet said that he would be twice as frustrated on being let out,and believe it or not dylan loves the smell of the stuff you spray on,i have tried 2 different ones, but got some cac perfume for xmas which he and i hate,so its not wasted as i use that,
Clair,i hope you get lucky to-morrow,i know you dont want to crate her but if you dont think you have a choice, she's never done it before has she?she didnt get into a scrap with one of the others or got upset some other way do you think?anyway let us know how you get on,lynne+dylanx

Hi Clair,
I live miles away from anything modern here and when i needed a crate i couldn't find one locally anywhere. My sister lived in Essex at the time and gave me the name of her local pet store, Kingstown Kennels (type that into your search engine). They have these crates available and delivery is included in the price. I ordered the B5. It's 42"x27"x29" @ £54 delivered and it arrived in 48 hours. It is very sturdy and is more than big enough for the time he was in it. He was really only in there until he was 5 months or so before he was ready to be let loose while i was out. I have been very lucky and he has only nibbled a couple of holes in the throws in 18 months!! Although Bailey doesn't need it now he still uses it as a resting place if he wants a break from it all. Worth a look??

Hi Clair,
We've crated Paddy since 7 weeks old. We got 42" crate from ebay and it was delivered within 48hrs. It is extremely sturdy and has the luxury of 2 doors, one at top end and one at side ( helps with whre you decide to put it.
I didn't like the idea but it's certainly working up to now. I also got a great idea from lablover......feed them in their crate. You can get bowls ( ebay or local pet shop) that clip onto the crate so they don't spill.
We had a few days of howling at night and when we went out but it soon settled down.
Good luck!
Kathy

Hi Clair,
Sorry to hear about rosze.
Just remember that if you are going to use a crate make sure you introduce it slowly so she doesn't see it as a prison cell, as this could cause even more problems!
Hear is a guide to introducing the crate-

I have a Croft Showman crate which really is a lovely crate .. however I bought the 38" which, though recommended for Labs, is a bit on the small side. They do a 45" which would be better
They are a bit pricey at £89.50 for the bigger one, but very well made and quite attractive to look at with a gold zinc finish

Cheers

Hi Clair
Sounds like a nightmare!
I also got the 48" crate off ebay too for Corbie and it's very well made, sturdy and cost just under £50 incl delivery and was delivered within 48 hours. You are right.... it is huge!
