Just wondered who lets their labs on the sofa? We have just got new chocolate sofas and as Simba is yellow OH thought it best she dosen't go on them. She is 10 months and the previous sofas were leather and she was allowed on them.
I thought it would be really hard to re-train her not to go on them but we only had to tell her a couple of times when she went to get up and now she dosen't attempt to go on them. What a clever girl! I'm going to miss our cuddles on them so will have to lay on the floor with her now but won't miss getting yellow hairs off them!
Lol, me when hubby's out!! I know it's wrong but I just love her cuddling in. Then I sweep her onto the floor when I hear the car
It's really bad I know. And OH will say you've got to get that dog trained! when she tries to get up. The problem is, when her front paws are up, she sneaks her back legs up, then dives towards the back and goes all floppy, then I start to laugh whilst trying to drag her off, and she starts to nibble my ears, and she knows she's got me under her paw when I collapse in fits of laughter! Suppose I should get her a bit of fleece so she knows which bit's hers Don't you just love it
Yous Simba is really good. Rolo would see this as a challenge, Haha!
We used to let our 2 on the sofa ,but have recently stopped it as
2 large labs leaves little room for anyone else.Raven gets up for a cuddle for about 5 mins at night but promptly gets down when told too,Bailey just leans against it....I thought it would be hard to discourage it as Ravens second home was the sofa, but have found keeping then off it easier that we thought.
I'm not a big fan of Ben going on the furniture. When I first got him someone suggested that tin foil would keep him off whilst I was out and that worked for about a month and a half until the day I got home to find the tin foil in a small ball. I've tried upending the dining chairs onto the settee when I'm out, but Ben just jumps over the arm and pushes them forward just enough to lie down behind them. One time I put the small coffee table in the chair with 3 phone books on top of it, looked through the window at a very pleased dog who was nice and high up sitting on all of them. Eventually I decided that he was going to do damage if I tried putting heavy objects on the settee or chair whilst I was out, so they have to have throws on them. Cream leather and a labrador who lives out in the countryside really do not mix!
All our guys go on the sofa, we have 2 - a 3 seater and a 2 seater, Charlie always sits with James on the 2 seater - and Izzie and Paddy sit with me on the 3 seater......as I type James is shoved into the corner of his sofa and I am int he corner of mine whilst all 3 dogs are stretched out
