Hi everyone! I wonder if anyone can help? Is my lab a true lab? We have all relevant kennel club pedigree info, but my gorgeous baby seems so small! it was commented on recently that she has a small head for her body size, and compared to other dogs of similar ages she does appear 'petite' standing at approx 18.5 inches at the shoulder. She doesn't appear to have grown much since the attached photo. Never having owned a lab before, I'm unsure when she'll stop growing?.

She looks like a lab to me. Very Happy

How old is Cally? My pup Corbie's head filled out after he was a year old, it became wider if that makes sense? Labs stop growing around 18 months - 2 years.

All labs are different. My Corbie, for example, is taller than some older labs he meets, there's been one who's been bigger than him, some are chunkier than him, etc.

p.s. I removed the font colour from your post as the blue was difficult to read on the blue background Wink

Hi Karen. Thanks for your reply! Razz I think that I realised she still had some growing to do, but when people start to make comments, it does make you wonder. I do feel quite reassured now, but I have to say that I love her whatever - she's made our lives complete.

I wouldn't worry about what other people are saying. Your lab has probably got at least another year of growing to do.

Also, labs can and do come in a variety of shapes and sizes. From what I have seen, their size can actually vary by quite a surprising amount.

Helen.

Hi Anne. Elsa is a fairly small lab. Everybody thought she was a puppy (ie. under 18 months.)even when she was 6 years old Very Happy So it has it's advantages. A lady never likes to look her age Laughing
