Thanks for the replies and links everyone. It's fine if we can't show her, we don't intend to. I suppose I was just worried by the way the woman said we should get a discount, as if it's a substandard puppy or something!
It's silly really because if we wanted a show dog, we wouldn't buy a dog we can't show for a reduced price, we would just buy a dog we could show! All the dogs are really healthy and happy which is what matters to me. Just need to have more faith in myself and know that I have followed as many guidelines as possible.
Don't know why I am so worried anyway as we thought she was the cutest puppy of the whole litter!!
Human nature dictates that if you mention to someone that anything you bought has some kind of flaw in it, people always say 'ohhh i hope you asked for a discount!'.
They forget nature is a little different to Marks and Spencers.
Yes indeed the fact that both parents were chcooclates that both carried the gene for yellow, gave your puppy about a 25% chance of having the pigment of a chocolate (which is basically what she has got). She could of also been a chocolate puppy with the pigmentation of some yellows, IE pink nose and eye rims.
Whilst both are incorrect under the breed standard, if one pops up like that in a litter you can bet your boots that every single pet puppy home will want that puppy! Its does look rather cute and has absolutely no side effect whatsoever in any way at all to the pup. God just took his paintbrush and made her a little bit different to her siblings on the canvas
As you said yourself, you wouldn't buy a puppy with unshowable pigment FOR showing, anymore than you would buy a black puppy with a big white star on its chest so the puppy is able to fulfil the job you want it for perfectly well, being a gorgeous pet that will probably turn more heads than a normal pigmented dog!
So no, no discount should be asked for in my humble opinion.

PMSL! That's exactly what people said to me when I told them Blue was Optigen B!!
If there is a smaller puppy in a litter, people sometimes call and say 'whould I ask less her her/him?' I always say- well is he or she healthy - well yes absolutely, fiesty infact is often the answer...then I say 'no!' charge exactly the same... some people prefer a smaller dog and its exactly what they are looking for. The 'small one' rarely gets picked last
