Bye bye little Jack. Run free over the bridge little man.
We will always love you and never forget you.

Jack was my Nan's, Mum's and my dog but he stayed with my Nan when my Mum and I moved out.
He was a little westie and was 11 & 1/2 years old.
This evening my Nan noticed that he was breathing very rapidly and would not settle down. He kept wandering around the livingroom and was also a bit shaky.
I came home from work and took him to the vets who said it was more than likely an epileptic fit.
He gave him Diazapam(?) to calm his heart and breathing down and also a pain killer.
I left him in the vets for the night to get the best care.
The vet phoned me at 00.15 and said he was'nt improving. He had been in an oxygen tent and breathed easier but when he was taken out he went down hill again.
He took an x-ray and his heart was enlarged and it was more than likely heart failiure.
He also thought there was also something more sinister like tumors in his lungs or around his heart.
I spoke to my Mum and Nan and we decided it wasn't fair to leave him suffering and scared till the morning and that it was best to let him go.
I just feel so guilty for not being there for him at the end but my partner is in work and i cant leave the kids.

So sorry to hear about Jack, you all made the best choice for him tho, I know it doesn`t seem that way at the moment.

I know it doesnt seem it now but you really made the best choice for little jack he knew you all loved him he had 11 1/2 years of love in his little heart to remind him of you and this was your final act of love and devotion to him...he was probebly feeling so ill it was a blessing to let him sleep...

RUN FREE LITTLE JACK....im sure there will be a rabbit at the bridge willing to play chases
