just wondering what time everbodys dogs settle down in the evening . I have two dogs and they don't nomaly settle down till about 9pm. They play with toys, each other and any thing else they can find!!! untill about 9pm when they finaly crash.
They have two good long walks a day and charly had a good long walk tonight and did agility this moring too so its not like they don't get enough excersise.
Is there somthing we can do to encourage them to settle earlyer (8pm) or is this just how its going to be?

My two do the same they settle at 9pm as long as they've had some supper. Before 9pm Amber sleeps and plays or sits on my knee, Shep just sleeps and goes in the garden.
Its just the routine they've got themselves in no matter how long we've been out for during the day! LOL

Ours both settle at much the same time as yours. Could it be anything to do with when they are fed? Mine are fed at 6.30. They then need to go out for a play around, pee etc.

They mess around for a while after that, then gradually slow down until they plod into their beds at about 9.30 to 10 ish.

I feed mine at 5pm as we take shaggy out after the kids tea then they might have a chew/bone about 7pm and then are on the go most of the evening. I am thinking of cutting out the 7pm chew/bone as wondered if it was making them hypo again.

Laughing Elsa used to be on the go until we went to bed around midnight.
These days she takes herself upstairs to bed at around 9pm. and stays on our bed until we go up. I let her out then.
In the morning she comes down about 10am has her breakfast, goes out, weather permitting, then goes back up to bed until lunchtime Laughing You could say she likes her bed, or ours.

Mine have a nap after tea and then depending on what we are doing, will either want to play if we arent busy doing something or will snore quite happily beside us if we watch tv, they will usually let us have a lie in on our days off until around 9am when willow starts shouting for her breakfast!

Daisy the pup has short bursts of energy on and off during the day followed by little bouts of sleep...... Laughing Laughing

All three settle after their dinner at 9pm, may have a little bit of a play before we all go to bed, but they settle to sleep very quickly when the light goes off for the night Very Happy

Generally, I guide the time, and get them both down by around 1030 / 1045 Very Happy which suits me fine Very Happy
