Do you feel like giving up Collette... you have to take the rough with the smooth in this game. You have to see through the very human feeling that you always have the best dogs in the world, and see that the big names who have done this for donkeys often DO have dogs more outstanding in certain areas and just use them to aim at!!! Wink

Some days you are floating, other days you sink.

I went 450 miles round trip to a field trial last week to go out in the first round after a total of about 2 minutes dogwork on my part! Its just the way it goes.

Never give up, but if you feel in a rut of losing, take a long hard look at why it might be and do something about it if yu are a serious competitor. Either more training, keep some at home till they imrpove, mate up your kennel a little or only enter under judges you know something about - entering under all and sundry is hopeless, it just leaves you darting about the country feeling a failure ;-(
Even if you only show once a month, or once every 6 weeks, if you wait for a good judge and go out and win, by golly you feel better than any amount of 4th or VHCs or chuck outs! Wink

Ehhhh just babling because I've been there Collete, and you should never say die.

(Di)

Hi Collete,

Been there, got the T-shirt and then it all comes right. At the beginning of this year I was wondering whether I should actually be forking out for entry to Champ shows after her two disappointing appearances at Champ shows during 2005. When I got that VHC at SKC in May, I felt like I'd won! Qualifying for Crufts was an unexpected bonus this year. Never give up and keep trying!

Don't forget, you did beat Jenna at Dundee in June!!

Trish
