  |
|
Maggie's new bed came yesterday and I thought I'd put it down for her to get used to before putting it into her crate. Went well at first:
Then about twenty mins later she started scratching and digging at it and then did a wee on it right in front of my eyes Any thoughts anyone?

maybe Maggie is just marking it as hers... giving it her smell.
It could be worse, Eddie has been peeing on our bed until last night and OH banished him to his crate

Yep it's definitely her bed now....well no one else is going to want to sleep on it after she's peed on it are they.
I have to be careful when putting down new bedding....it isn't my dogs that mark it but one of my cats does...right in the middle usually.
I often wonder if there is something that is used on new bedding and other soft furnishings that encourages the animals to mark it. I have the same problem everytime I buy a new rug for the living room. Oyster peed on this one, Mojo peed on the last one....but they haven't done it since....Odd really.

Funny the way they do that. I guess its right that they are marking the item as their own. As the bed was new it couldn't have smelt of other dogs.
BJ caused me some embarrassment when my sister gave us a sofa for our new place when we moved. She was very proud of this gift, so imagine my horror when BJ strolled over to it had a sniff and then cocked his leg on it.
He also peed on my daughter's aspidistra, quite a large plant in a fancy pot on her living room floor.
Don't we just love our doggies?
