I have just been to a training class and the dog wardens visited the class to give us talks, I thought that as long as the dog had a tag with the dogs name and a phone number or house number and postcode that it was within the law but it isn't . the tag must have the owners name and full address on. just wondered if you were all aware of this.

I will be off to town tomoro to buy two new tags !!!

the dog warden who came to our training class said the tags must have our surname, house name or number, postcode and telephone number at the very least Smile

i use to have Alfie's name on his and not my surname but i got a new one with my surname instead of his name Smile

thats what we were told when we go charly at the begining of this year but apparently the law is changing so it has to be full owners name and full address.

Some are required by law with a K5 fine if not done and the rest, by choice to protect the labs....

If your lab is neutered it pays to have that known ...should they be stolen...ie not a breeding machine

I have Ben registared with PetBack-There tags are approved by the police to stop dog knapping. It has a free phone number they have all my contact details, and if Ben was involved in a accident they have the right to get him taken to my vets and treatment started if they cant contact me.They also hold his DNA on file.Cost me £100 for his life time, and with all the dog knapping going on well worth it.
