Glad it went well. I know what it is like to have a dog who is not always welcoming to visitors.

Helen.

That is FANTASTIC!!!!! Very Happy Sometimes all it takes is courage - but it can be hard as you really don't know what they will do. Took me months to figure the best way to deal with things - and it only works if the 'stranger' do as they are told!

I am so glad it worked for you - give Bessie a huge hug from me for being such a great dog!!! Very Happy

great that things worked out and thanks for the tips guys cause bob is the same!

we had a house guest while back now and bob was really barky and growly with him we took him out of the room a couple of the times and kept bringing him back in the guy who stayed with us ignored him for about 20 mins)and by the end of the weekend they were best friends too!

im always nervous when people come because of the way he is but now i have read this i am sure it will help

thing that annoys me is people always think they know best and i say ignore him but they dont Rolling Eyes

It gets me, Shona, that everyone always assumes that it is completely safe to approach an unknown labrador.

Not necessarily. Charlie does not like it, and as I am learning now, he is not the only one. They will insist, though, and some definitely think they know best, as you say.

Helen.
