11. Dogs come when you call them.
Cats take a message and get back to you.

10. Dogs look much better at the end of a leash.

9. Dogs will let you give them a bath without taking out a contract on your life.

8. Dogs will bark to wake you up if the house is on fire.
Cats will quietly sneak out the back door.

7. Dogs will bring you your slippers or the evening newspaper.
Cats might bring you a dead mouse.

6. Dogs will play Frisbee with you all afternoon.
Cats will take a three-hour nap.

5. Dogs will sit on the car seat next to you.
Cats have to have their own private box or they will not go at all.

4. Dogs will greet you and lick your face when you come home from work.
Cats will be mad that you went to work at all.

3. Dogs will sit, lie down, and heel on command.
Cats will smirk and walk away.

2. Dogs will tilt their heads and listen whenever you talk.
Cats will yawn and close their eyes.

1. Dogs will give you unconditional love forever.
Cats will make you pay for every mistake you've ever made since the day you were born.

My cats come when I call them too...It's so funny to see...I stand on my doorstep and shout "pud-pud-puddy" and three cats come running as fast as they can, from all directions. Laughing

My cats also "sit" on command. Wink

I want a cat- however I have to want on as I live on a busy road- I see several cats a year in the side of the road and it breaks my heart. I have to make do with my friends cats Mungo and Midge - trouble is they were named the wrong way round!!! Rolling Eyes

Unfortunatley our previous cats have fallen victim to busy roads, but Stan must have had built in road sense as he has outlived them all - 15 now.
On another note to all - who came first, the cat or dog and how did they get on?

Stan - the cat - was first and it was so comical when we first brought Kips home. We didn't see him for a couple of days. That was 9 years ago.
Now, the cat is definatley the boss. I could go on forever about the antics Laughing Laughing

Ohhh that's a bit of a tricky one...I have 3 cats; 9 years, 6 years x 2 and 3 dogs; 13 years, 2 years and 19 weeks...I have had other cats and dogs too all at mixed intervals.

All of mine get along fine and two out of the 3 cats just love to snuggle with the dogs (the other one is a permanent attachment to my lap Wink ). I think it is best to have the dogs first, because cats can get their noses put out when a dog arrives in a normally dog-free house, but I have done it that way round too without too much hassle.

I also have rabbits that all the dogs and cats get along with, sit with, etc. I do have Guinea pigs too...but they are very small and squeeky so I wouldn't trust the cats with them. Wink
