  |
|
Well having a dog that is totally scared witless by fireworks, i was willing to try anything to help Max get thru the next few weeks.
Three weeks ago, i started him on Bachs Rescue Remedy which has helped to calm him a little bit.
Last week i purchased a Desensitisation CD which as well as having firework sounds, also has lot of other noises ie trains, planes etc on it.
Ive been using it now for the last 3 days and there is a definite improvement in Max.
Ok the first day i had to keep it very low and also turning it off after a couple of mins as Max was a total wreck.
I then put the tv on and played the CD in the background. He was still very jumpy but not quite as bad.
By yesterday we had reached the stage where I was playing it at normal noise level but still with the tv on and gradually turning that down during the day.
This morning we are playing the CD with out the tv on and instead of having a terrified dog trying to get up my trouser leg, he is laid by my side, with no panting and shaking or trying to get as far into a corner as he can.
He is still a little jumpy with some of the sounds, but is just ignoring most of them.
Would i recomend these CDs??
YOU BET I WOULD

Sounds brilliant - are you allowed to tell me where you got it from? My sweet babygirl is a timid little wreck when it comes to loud noises and I'd love to help her with it...

It must be awful seeing him so scared like that so its great that you've found the CD helps!!!!
I've got the CD too, i've had it for several months and been playing it regularly, to begin with Alfie would keep looking around and walking to the speakers but now both him and Billy will sleep through it and i have it turned up quite loud I'm sure my neighbours think i have a weird taste in music though
Edited to add .... i got my CD from Pets at home
