hi folks
sorry i've been away so long,i've been so busy with one thing and another that i rarely get any time to go on the internet.
samsons just over 9 months now and hes growing into a fantastic dog.
hes been going to puppy classes since he was 13 weeks and hes getting there,SLOWLY Smile
the biggest and really only problem were having with him is when he is on the lead.
he started to really pull and wanting to lunge at everything from cars to cats etc.....
hes been on a check chain for the last 2 months and is making steady progress.we were unsure about check chains at first but was advised this would be the best way to cure the problem and we were showed the correct way to use it at puppy class.
he also started to yelp a couple of times when getting up off the floor about 2 months ago while he was at my parents while we were on holiday.
my parents took him to the vets before we got back and the vet said that his left hip socket was a bit inflamed where the joint had not been going together properly so he was put on an anti-inflammatory drug and we had to cut his excersize down to 4 15minute walks a day and eventually he would be fine when his muscled developed properly and this would hold the hip joint in place properly.
he went to the vets 2 weeks ago to be checked and the vet said it had got a lot better but still keep the excersize limited and include as much swimming as possible.
luckily i live 15 mins from a place called"my pet stop" which has an hydrotherapy pool so for the last couple of weeks he has been going there and he absolutely loves it.
hes always loved the water and we have decided to make his weekly swim a permanent thing now as it only costs £12.50 which i think is great value as he gets a shampoo and dry included.
hopefully the hip problem is nearly sorted and he can slowly go back to getting a little bit more exercise as i think hes been missing it.
i think thats about everything and i've added some more pics to his album so you can see how he is looking now.
im just going to take him out for his nighttime 15 mins so i hope you and your lovely labs are all fine and healthy and ill try to get back on the forum when i can xx
