Wondering if someone could shed some light on this for me..

Toby has been on Beta puppy food since we got him (thats what the breeder had him on too)... after reading here (and misunderstanding information! Rolling Eyes ) i decided last week to change him onto JWB... so off i went and got some Turkey and Rice.. .and changed him over bit by bit using the last of the Beta too..

Now when he was on the Beta he was great, eating well etc, the only problem i had was runny poos.. which reading here made me believe this was due to an upset tummy caused by the food...

Since i've changed Toby into JWB completely hes went 'nuts' to say the least..

Hes running about like a looney all the time.. hardly sleeping (hes not getting older right enough and sleeping less).. being a lot more mouthy and generally being a pest to say the least!

Normally when we have visitors hell bring the toy and play for a bit then lie down nice, but last night he was intent in tormenting my visitor witless.. he was i can only explain as 'ramming' his head into places that it should have been.... biting... jumping on them.. climbing on them.. all of which he got told off for... even a time out didn't work!

This morning (my mum pops in most mornings for coffee) my mum commented on how he was behaving... its just pretty out of character for him..

Out the back he jumps at you then runs in the house usually but this morning he was jumping persistently at me and then growling (not aggressively) but im not having him growling at all unless at its his toys!!

Now im wondering if the change of food could be causing this or it just a coincidence that his behavior is changing due to his age or whatever just as we've changed foods

He was 20 weeks on Tuesday there

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. sorry for the long post and the poor spelling!! lol Razz

Stressed Out Shelly and Hyper Tobs! xx

Seems it could be down to the food or a real co-incidence! Have you checked the cotnent of the food? Are the protein levels etc similar?

Unfortunately thats him completely on the JWB now and the Beta is finished and of course the container in the bin Rolling Eyes

I will go and look and see if i can find the ingrediants on both online and compair them...

Seems theres just too much of something in the JWB or too little of something lol

It just seems too much of a concidence to me... stranger things have happened right enough..

Majic was a real loony on a lot of foods until i found this site and went onto Burns which calmed her down but she was intollerant to it (pooing 6-8 times a day) then went onto raw. Very Happy

She is a loopy lab but mischeivous loopy no biting or such like but she is just going through a 'kevin' stage and so is acting like a real puppy again and hooling around like she is 8 weeks old again attention seeking and been a general pain so we are back to basics withe her which I could do without as we are coming close to our intermediate test in obedience. Very Happy

It maybe that he is pushing the limits.

Google for Burns (would give you addy but new PC and lost my favourites list Rolling Eyes ) and you can get samples from them to try. Very Happy

i would say that its just down to his age, he's coming out of himself as he gets older!! just like children do, he's now trying to push his way up the pack!!!!! i would recomend staying on the JWB for a bit longer & just wait & see!
As for the ingredients you can see straight away that there is more meat in the JWB than the beta which is basicly made with cereals! hence the reason for protein level being higher. & that will be more digestable protein!!
