Over the last few days Ruby has been very very strange (even more than normal Wink )

She has been a lot more vocal - whining lots when she doesnt get what she wants. Also she is very very unsettled in the mornings and she is waking up earlier and whining to get up earlier than she has been.

She also wont leave her rear end alone constantly washing herself.

This has been going on a few days now. Does this sound like an impending first season? At nearly 13 months she is the rght age but I am unsure if all the unsettledness and moodyness is associated with that or whether she is poorly? If it is season related how long will this go on for before her season starts?

No swelling or discharge she has been wormed toileting as usual and nothing in her life has changed recently.

It does sound very "season" related to me......the only other thing that crossed my mind was perhaps her anal glands need emptying.

I won't ask if you've done the tissue test......as I know you will have. Wink

heheh ohhh anal glands yes - checked that too and she was emptying her owns yesterday - hehehehe gross but definitely was emptying liquid along with waste as i though that too. She hasnt been scooting along either and gets marrow bones which mean harder stools too - so i dont think its that.

it sounds as if her season is on its way or that she could be having a 'silent season', tess' mum chloe had silent seasons, (not all the time though) and one of tess' pups, bo had a silent first season got caught by a rotti Shocked so had the jab and was then spayed Smile

before i had tess spayed we always knew when she was coming into season as she would become very drepressed and mopey up to 3 weeks before her season started

Don't know anything about silent seasons...but all the signs that Ruby is showing is exactly what Millie was doing for a couple of weeks before she came into season - haven't you got a male dog she could visit just to see what he does? (sniffing etc you don't want it to get further than that! Shocked )

Vicky sounds very much like she is coming into season especially licking her private parts all the time.

You will definitely see when you go to the GT today - should be fun - hope you have a good day Wink Wink

Looking forward to your reply later
