I didnt go to training classes with Poppy or Ash (not Labs) and just concentrated at home and in the park with a clicker. I do kind of regret it because if i had gone i would have had back up with their behaviour problems when they reared their ugly heads (rescue pups) but training wise they are great (apart from recall with Ash).

Hebe is now going to classes and i dont regret it although its expensive even though she has only had one class she really enjoyed it where as Pop and Ash wouldnt have done. Personally as long as the dog is getting socialised and having fun with training then it doesnt matter if you go to classes.

Hi Lindsey.
I've never used the trainning classes at Triple A but take Shep there for his baths. I also Put Shep into the kennels once for about 8 hours and paid the for him to have two walks. However when I collected him he shot outside and had loads of wee's. His bladder was really full and it made me wonder if he really did have his two walks? I could be wrong but I was sceptical. Confused
The people there are always nice and the place is really clean so I'm sure little Rolo will be fine! Has he stayed in kennels before?

No Kimberley, she hasn't, but she is familiar with the place through the classes, and she's always waggy! And she's booked in for a bath 2 weeks before we go. Rolling Eyes

A couple of the staff, took her for a wander around while I had a tour, and when I came back they said she had been lovely and friendly with everyone, and that she was happy with the surroundings. They recommended that I put her in one of the 'new apartments' because they are 2 adjoining rooms, one of which is double glazed, so it will be bit quieter. Poor Shep, crossing his legs for ages. What a clever boy. I have to say, I've seen their 'walks', it's about twice around the paddock, which really does only last 10 mins, plenty for Rolo, but they do keep walking, and he may not have felt happy stopping for a sniff and a wee.

Rolo will just let it all go if she needs to!! She has in the house with no guilt Laughing

I'm kinda hoping she'll love the doggy creche, and go in quite happily. Shocked Watch this space........ Wink

Megan is the first of our several Labs over the years that we've either used a crate for in the first year or used Puppy Classes (both of which I'd do again in a minute). We seem (reading everyone else's comments) to be really lucky that our vet has a trained Counsellor who runs classes in a local Church Hall - not just for pups and Problem Dogs, but also so you can have some communal FUN with your doggie Pal! Since we live in the country we seldom meet other people never mind other dogs, and Meg has really benefitted from the social contact (as have I!) £2 a night or the equivalent up front for a 6 week puppy course doesn't seen bad. Really these people are doing it for love. We have achieved Kennel Club Foundation and Bronze certificates through the classes and would like to go for Silver and maybe even gold. Meg has now been accepted as a Pets as Therapy dog which she really enjoys, and is an angel with very small grandchildren who see her about every 6 weeks and cuddle her to bits when they do! (I think she's after the dropped biscuits as much as the cuddles myself..)

Shep was also in the new appartments, which I think looking at the old ones are much better!! Maybe try Rolo in the kennel for a day and see how she goes...how long are you going away for?

We're going for a week Crying or Very sad But she's going in this Thursday, for a free taster day, and then Friday ( we're getting wooden flooring laid, so she's best off there as I've no hols left.)

The lady said we'll have a good idea when we bring her back on the Friday, as to how she liked it Confused We shall see. She's definitely safer in there than at any family's place.

I just hope she's not too sad at night Sad
