ok so after i let him out of time out my husband got home and i told him what had happened i was still pretty upset bob just sat at my feet and looked up at me he knew i was upset

he was quiet all nite and just lay in the corner
i felt terrible
later on he came over to me while i was sitting on the floor and lay his head in my lap.....god i felt like such a bad mum....

now heres what ive done since.............
i dont know if this is right or not and i might be doing completely the wrong thing but i filled a water spray bottle and everytime he barks or jumps i spray him with it and say "no barking" or "no jumping"
and i think its working cos hes stopped

so i might take it with me on my walks i dont know if its right or wrong u know!!

other thing thats been crossing my mind is should we of gotten him castrated when he was younger
i asked my man if hes dogs were ever like this when they were young and he said no cos they were full lab were as bob isnt.............so maybe there lies my problem cos bobs mum was full lab and his dad lab cross (dont know what with) maybe hes got some horrible kind of dog mix in him Sad

anyway today hes been on his best behaviour and ive not used the water spray....have picked it up but hes stopped what hes doing!!

i appreciate everyones comments and help Smile

ok its now monday so on sunday i didnt use the spray at all and richard took him for his walk and said apart from a bit of pulling he was great

today it was my turn and i was a bit nervous anyway i set off with the spray bottle he saw me take it
just as we turned into the last bit of the walk i saw i lady and her dog and bob pulled and went to bark but i sprayed and said no barking and he stopped even when her dog barked at him...........so i felt better about the whole walk and even when i stood and talked to this woman he just stood by me didnt bark or pull to get to the other dog

i kinda feel like ive had a wee bit of success today Smile

YEAH !!!!!

Well done to you both !

The water spray method can work depending on your dog, i tried it too stop Abbey digging in the garden but she really liked being sprayed so it didnt work for us !! Twisted Evil

It sounds like you have been being persistant and that Bob is learning the correct behaviour you want from him.

Its great to hear of people succeeding with their dogs, well done !
