always have to have something in their mouths when someone comes into the house.? It doesn't matter who comes in but as soon as the door opens Sonas picks up anything that is nearby could be a dirty sock, a tissue, a toy even a cup!!! but whatever it is she has to have something in her mouth and then walks around wagging her tail violently!! Doesn't bother me at all just wondered if it was a general thing and if anyone knew why they do it?

Dont know why they do this Karen but Maggie is just the same, has to hold something in her mouth to greet you - mind you it wasn't that long ago that the "something" was our fingers/hands/arms so we are quite happy with this!! Laughing

Joey doesn't do this, although he sometimes gets his kong after his initial 'welcome home'

He does the very very waggly whole body rubbing against you thing, and what we call his 'lemon face' (its the same face he pulled when I let him try some lemon sorbet) all wrinkled lips and smily! Laughing

I always thought it was to do with their 'retriever' instinct???

Tilly is exactly the same and if she can't find anything she goes bonkers!!

Jazz does this too, and I've just emailed an update to Sylvia at MTR to say that Feather is beginning to copy Jazz doing it! This breed just love to have something in their mouth.
