Bailey has nearly grown out of his first car harness, which is a shock as when he first wore it we had to make it as small as poss, and the straps that were pulled tight hung on the floor lol. so we now need to get him a new one.

as he goes in the car alot we want to get him a good one, money doesnt really matter as it will be well used. Ideally we want one with padded straps and a wide chest plate part, as the one he has now seems to rub a little as it has no padding.

what do other people use?

I just bought and RAC 2 in 1 one but have always used see here

hicraft see here (lots cheaper on ebay though)

the only reason I changed from hicraft to RAC was that hicraft is red hehehehe and I wanted black as it matches more collars pmsl Embarassed both are fabulous and padded and very adjustable - the RAC one says its 2 in 1 dual purpose but the hicraft says dont walk them on it.

HTH

Tilly has the RAC one, but I have to admit I am not sure about the safety of it.......

Unless we are not using it correctly - which is perfectly possible - Tilly can still move around a lot?? She can move off the back seat into the footwells?? We have tightened it as much as we think we can. Is it normal to have this amount of 'freedom' when they are harnessed up??

PMSL!

Baxter's got the Hi-craft one like Vicky showed, but it's getting a bit small now! Have found it excellent though, especially when OH tried to kill us all on the way up to the GT on the M6.

Did his usual trick of gawping at a car on fire on the other side of the road and only looked round when I swore VERY loudly as we were heading for the back of a stationary artic at 40mph Shocked Shocked Shocked

I didn't think we would stop in time as the road was wet, but good old ABS did it - just! Poor old Baxter shot forward, and if it hadn't been for that harness I honestly think he would have been thrown right into the front. Had to cover his ears while I screamed at OH though.

It was quite a lot of force and he didn't wimper or anything, so I know the harness didn't hurt him at all. Really recommend!

they go by girth measurement rather than weight or age - if you measure asll around his body just behind the frontlegs that will give you the measurement the large RAC one here is 20-30 inches which is the one Ruby is in.
