I am Walkezee's No1 fan, they are brilliant not only do they stop the problem of pulling but they teach the puppy/dog to walk correctly next to you Very Happy

They are kind and gentle and the dogs don't seem to mind them (unlike the Halti Rolling Eyes ) I also found with the Halti that people think your dog is muzzled and cross the road to avoid you Sad

We use a non pull harness on Max. Not so much for the pulling problem, he walks ok with just collar and lead. but he cut his neck a year or so ago thinking he could run through a barbed wire fence to get to the water Rolling Eyes , anyway the vet recommended we use a harness while it healed as the collar would rub, this was the cheapest we found and we have just kept with it as he walks so lovely with it, but can still run around like a loon when he get to the fields.

Hi,

I bought that harness for aero as he sure can pull, though to be honest found it a bit useless so only ever used it twice. I didn't like that the control was further down the body and it didn't stop the pulling much. I instead use a horse lead rope and wrap the rope round so it hangs in front of the chest, so when he pulls it pulls on the collar and the chest and that works so much better for me as he slows down straight away. Also horse leads generally are great for walking dogs as they don't hurt your hands at all when the dog pulls.

I do know I need to do a lot more lead training with my dog, but I'm working on it!

just read through this and am still confused about harnesses LOL always seems to be contradicting views! i`ve got a halti and gentle leader but not tried using them on jake yet as i don`t think he`d like them on his face. i also have the halti body harness but find it absolutely junk, he still tries to pull and it does prevent him although he ends up looking like he`s playing buckeroo - i found that it sort of restricts the top of his front legs also. i`m at a debate now whether to try the walkeeze or mekuti, i`ve looked on both websites and they both seem rather confusing.

i use a slip lead at the local centre as that`s all they`ll let us walk the c=dogs with and i can`t walk half the dogs there as it does nothing to stop them from pulling plus i`ve had a couple of escape artists who worked out that if they stopped and pulled backwards they could slip out Rolling Eyes

I would say I've seen a lot more people praising the Walkezee compared to those who didn't get on with it (possibly 2,) I've recommended them to people on here and on other forums and they have all been over the moon with them and amazed at how well they work Very Happy

I agree with you Daisy about people thinking the halti is a muzzle. I had a gencon very light and thin head harness when I broke my ankle but I still got loads of comments re ' is he muzzled cause he bites' sort of thing Rolling Eyes I've just ordered one of these harnesses a few days ago as I still have a few problems. We are working on the pulling but he still lurches at things very suddenly causing problems with my still unstable ankle......so will let you know if it slows down my big brown train Laughing

I am a Walkezee fan. Millie was a rescue and pulled like a steam train. Despite training classes, and following advice about changing direction, stopping until she came back to heel, loads of praise treats etc. I have tried everything, I have been consistent with each method and given each one a fair time (weeks not days). Millie walks great in classes, but still pulls on her walks if she is not on the walkezee. If she does pull at least she doesn't drag me with her and my poor shoulders and arms don't ache any more. I find it is a gentle way of exerting control without doing any harm to her or me.
