My choc lab who died of cancer last year was allergic to almost everything. I wish I had been on this forum years ago to help him. As it was, when he really flared up he was prescribed steroids. I am cinvinced that vets treating the symptoms and not the root cause, was the reason for his death at 10 years.

After reading more it seems that one simple allergy, untreated, can trigger an total immune system response. This results in a major reaction to most things. We thought that when we moved to Spain and had no carpets he might improve, but unfortunately, I think at 6, it was too late. We rescued him and he already had a medical record at 4 years old which ran in to 4 sides of types A4!.

I am to pick up new pup Joseph in 3 weeks and already I am preapring to feed him on Burns. I am determined that I will not make the same mistake again and qwill not feed anything that had unspecified ingrediants.

Burns have a nustritionist that you can contact, via their web site. If you get in contact with them, they will advise what is best for your lab.
