My choco lab has many allegies. So many that they won't test her due to her haveing 8 mast cell tumours removed in the past 2 1/2 years. So I have to find a food for her that is hypo allergenic. So far we haven't found one that works for her yet.
She has tried ROyal Canine skin support 21
Eukanuba lamb and rice
Chicken maintenance formulas of Iams, Eukanuba, and pro plan.
Any suggestions on other brands. The brands that I can get are Pro plan Eagle Pack and Wellness which are fish based.
Have you enquired with Burns? I am not sure if it would be suitable but it is worth asking hey. They are extremely helpful and it is holistic food, I wouldn't be surprised if it is suitable for dogs with allergies too.
You can call them on: 0800 0836696 it's their national helpline. Their website is www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk
Wafcol do a hypoallergenic Salmon & potato for dogs with allergies, i have a customer who has a chocolate lab allergic to everything! on that one seems to work for him

Our Molly is fed on Pero Labrador Life, which is salmon and hypoallergenic. Molly used to have terrible itchy skin and ears, no problem since we switched over to this food. You can find this in large countrywide stores or online with Pero. Its about £26 for 15kg, a lot cheaper than Burns and it certainly worked on my chocolate lab.
Hi. Both my girls have allergic skin probs and my vet recommended the James Wellbeloved Hypo allergenic dry food. There are 3 or 4 different flavours, and also a senior and puppy range. They also do treats or u can use the Large/Giant one as treats (works out cheaper).
Santa's skin probs have gone away completely since she has been on it, and HoneyBear is certainly a lot better.
She used to be a builder's dog and was permanently caked in cement dust, as well as being 15kg overweight. Then she came to live with us and found out the joys of lying around in the grass all summer, only to discover that she is allergic to grass!!! This is a bit of a problem if you do horses as well as labbies!!!
My chocolate lab, Jack, is also very allergic. So far he is allergic to house dust mites, storage mites, many grasses and pollen. He is being tested next month for food allergies.
At the moment he is on Purina HA, which is £60 for a 13kg bag and only available on prescription. However, both Burns and James Wellbeloved have brought out new foods for dogs with food intolerance. Burns is Potato and Pork and JW is Lamb and Veg Kibble. We are trying Potato and Pork out at the moment. He has half Purina and half Burns.
Although, he is very red and itchy at the moment and his dermatologist said it probably was the food. I then mentioned that I had just had my living room carpet shampooed and he said it was more likely to be that!!
You can never win!!
