Thanks for the feedback Di. As always you're very helpful. I'm not so worried about what people think frankly. I think ultimately I would be doing Polly and her offspring a disservice if I didn't put some effort into keeping the qualities that she's shown. I've had several Labradors over the years and she is the only one that has not destroyed my home, I have never had to raise my voice to and gets instruction faster than any of my teenage children....Which is extraordinary.

On the breeding front;
I am slowly building up a head of steam on this one. Not quite sure when she will come on heat but we expect to get things moving the "heat after next" as this should potentially make for spring whelping. We've just taken her to the vet to have her hips and elbows x-rayed last week (I did try your recommend down south but could never get hold of her) and I've read your post with regards to Optigen, which I think is my next task. Confused so a big thank you to you for all the information, which I am hoovering up!!

If you're interested;
Her pedigree is on this post

Pleasure. I know some folks will have strong views on exactly 'how close is too close' and so on, so its worth getting more stringent opinions too and, well, sifting... but for me, if you want to cement a type, or have a type you adore and don't want a completly random bunch to follow in whatever way, then linebreeding is your way forward - or at the least mating 'type to type'. I haven't always done it, but then I haven't always had in what i'm mating, EXACTLY what it is I want to continue with... if that makes sense... Wink

Di
