Yes I think you are doing the right thing Nic, and also behave as if everything is perfectly fine and you aren`t in the least worried by what Joey`s worried about, very hard I know cos you ARE worried!, we all would be after what happened.

Hopefully after a while he`ll not be worried about walking past the dogs house or the area of field he met them in Smile

I think it's best to keep it normal Nic... poor Joey though!!

I wouldn't DRAG him past this house or down this road though.. don't think that would do him much good. Amber can be quite sensitive (believe it or not), and if there's somewhere she isn't sure about going, she will sit down and not budge.. where it's safe to do so, I will drop her lead and walk past the scary thing without her.. she will soon see me walk along fine, and will come and join me. It has to be her decision though, otherwise she gets more scared and more determined not to confront her fear!!

If it's a busy area though, obviously you can't do that - can you approach the field another way? Enter on another side, let him have his normal play, then take him home that way.. or drive to the other end of the road, and walk him down the opposite way?? Just thinking if he approached it in a different directoin, or under different circumstances he might realise there's nothing to be scared of? Just suggestions really.. i'm no expert, obviously!!

good luck!!
