Thanks very much John, this is exactly the type of information I'm looking for. I can now study all the detail you have given me. Its a superb starting point for some research I should like to pursue.
I'm very interested in seeing how extensive the 'gene pool' actually is and the effects of line breeding.
Thanks again, your all round knowledge of Labrador Retrievers is invaluable.

Oh that's great news. As you obviously realise Glenmuick Achiever is one of BJ's grandparents.

If your pup has the same temperament as BJ, you will have a wonderful companion, you could not find a kinder or gentler dog. Is the rest of your pup's background working?
Would be great to see some pics if you can, though I think you may have to subscribe to post pics.

Hi Fay

Jay has Tibea Tosh on her fathers side and Breeze of Drakeshead on her mums side. Also Willowyke lines. We seem to be in good company and we also live only a few miles apart. Jay came from Sussex where did you get BJ?

FT Ch Tibea Tosh and FT Ch Dancing Brave of Willowyck are both on Monty's dam's side.

That is interesting June, Dancing Brave is on both BJ's dam's and sire's side and Tibea Tosh is on his dam's side.

Yes Fay - it is very interesting indeed.

If you recall Sue had a look at the pedigrees last year and said that they were related.

From what I can see on Monty's pedigree -
FT Ch Tasco Dancing Brave of Willowyck was mated with Ft Ch Linksview Lena to produce to Smagill Sally.
FT Ch Tibea Tosh was mated to Gartshore Blaise to produce Linksview Liam.
Then these two dogs Linksview Liam and Smagill Sally produced Gartshore Sovereign - who was Monty's great grandmother.
