BUMP

It has been forecast that August will be HOTTER, please read and be aware.

Perhaps we could print this info out and do a flyer for the GT?

Nat, a flyer at the GT will be too late...we need peeps to be aware before hand to make adequate arrangements......hence why Kaye started the thread I believe...

ok. so its a tad cooler today but still hot enough to cause problems Rolling Eyes

so i look out of my window just now to see a girl wih a young black lab pup playing chase with a ball Evil or Very Mad

so out i stomp and the poor little lad is panting for all hes worth and shes just about to throw the ball again Evil or Very Mad

so she has just been "educated" about the dangers of heat stroke in no uncertain terms Shocked

she has now taken the pup home with a promise that she will hose the poor little thing down as soon as she gets home!!

fingers crossed she has taken notice and learnt a lesson !!

WELL DONE JANE Very Happy

WTG.....many do not realise the risk and that only a 3 or 4 degree increase can cause terrible damage and / or death

I was worried yesterday that Jansen had HS, when I came home he was in his kennel & wouldnt come out, he was just looking at me, he normally comes bounding out to see me, then he came out & was just sat there panting.

Anyway I got the plastic tray out of his old crate & put some water in it, and chucked a few bistcuits in it & he got in ate them & then weed in the water, he then went inside to his crate & had a long sleep & was in much better spirts later on... today is he fine & his normal self thank goodness.

I keep giving him plenty of water bottles to play with, ice cubes & he loves frozen veg.

ordered a bandana thing aswell.

One thing I have been keeping an eye on is how much water Corrie is drinking during this hot weather. He tends to be a dog that doesn't drink much during the day at all and always has a massive drink just before he goes to bed. Dogs can deyhdrate so quickly and making them drink is not always easy!!!

Luckily Corrie loves milk so if I don't think he has been drinking enough water I just add a drop of milk to a bowl of water and he thinks its all milk and drinks the lot!

Thank goodness its cooler here today Smile
