Before Dexter arrived Majic had started to go off her food especially her RMB's so after 15 mins they were lifted and put in the fridge for tea where she would either eat half or leave altogether but she would eat her organ/muscle meats no probs.
Now Dexter has arrived she is not eating at all she looks and sniffs her RMB's then leaves them and now not eating muscle/organ meats either but is quite happy to eat any RMB's that Dexter has left which is not often as he loves his food.
Is this a pack issue or is she just sulking she is lively on walks and no health probs sowhat do you think? Yes it has been hot but today a lot cooler but still no joy this is very unusual for her as she has always gobbled it down no probs.
Any thoughts?

If I was looking at it from a dog/pack behaviour point of view, I would say yes it certainly sound like it...remember all the fuss about Higher status dogs eating first and the lower ranks eating the leftovers, it might be she is signalling to Dex his/her status.
OR
It could be that the heat has put her off her food, if she seems happy in herself, and is eating treats I wouldn't be overly concerned, dogs very rarely starve themselves, or have you thought she may have just gone off the food you are giving her?
Jack goes through fazes like this, he went off Burns after I bought a wacking great sack, so I switched back to Butchers, after a month on that we were back to Burns and he was happy again, so now I just alternate betweent the 2. Maia on the other hand eats anything you give her in seconds!!

I feed Majic first every time and she is eating treats and she gets them before Dex but the main food is the prob.
It has me stumped
Edited- When I say feed her first I mean her bowl goes down first then dex gets his not she eats all hers first (or not as the case maybe) then Dex gets his if that makes sense.
Could be a pack thing, Majic is probably still getting used to the idea that Dex is there to stay and hasn`t just come for a visit
As you say she`s eating anything Dex may leave, try dropping her food where Dex had his (remove him first obviously ) and seeing if she`ll eat that way.
As Vicky says dog`s will rarely starve themselves and if
Majic seems ok in all other ways, I wouldn`t worry to much
oohhhh Interesting carroll - just out of interest why feed Majic first she is younger and a bitch no I would assume the other way round - assume its a who's been there the longest thing then.
Sorry I digress as you know Ruby stopped hoovering at the end of May - I started to just put down and pick up after 15 mins which was fine she would nible then walk away. Then when we were going camping I knew she had to get some food into her so I just left her food down and she ate it about lunchtime. Also she self reduced down to 200g of burns a day (clever girl read the packet thats her recommended amount at 20kg) anyway the point of all this waffle - Ruby likes lunch and dinner not bnreakfast and dinner. Just a thought that majic may prefer to be fed a bit later in the day?
I think that within a pack of dogs its the bitch that is the main Alpha, although there`s an Alpha male he only steps in where necassary and the bitch does the day to day running of the pack (much like us humans then!! , not that I`m saying we are bitches of course!)
I`m sure someone will correct me if I`m wrong on this
Actually it has been noted in Wolf packs that the Alpha Male will dominate all wolves and the Alpha female will dominate all Wolves except the alpha Male.
The Alpha female will almost always defer to the male and will let him eat first, unless she has pups, then he will defer to her, often regurgiatting food for her and the pups.
This is an extremely interesting link on Wolf behaviour, you wil probably find that your dog may very well adopt some of this behaviour too

Carroll, I have a very similar issue with Shep and Amber. Since Amber has come along, Shep will be very slow to start on his food and will look at Amber eating hers more than consentrating on his own!! He will eat some then wander around the kitchen. He will then go back to his food, have a nibble then leave the rest. This was never heard of before Amber came to us. She, on the other hand will gobble hers up in ten seconds flat and wait at Shep's bowl for a command to eat his (which she never gets).
So, answers..... I have stood in the kitchen, in case Shep thought Amber was going to steal his food, this doesn't really work. I have fed them separatly, this doesn't work either. I have on the odd occasion resorted to taking Sheps bowl, sitting on the floor(Amber usually sitting behind me) and feeding Shep with a spoon!
Needless to say this worked a treat and he woofed it down(pun!).
I have started to think in terms of it being a 'pack' thing and still can't work out who ranks where between Shep and Amber??
Back to the drawing board then!!LOL

Amber/Shep
I* am at a loss and have tried lots of things the thing is with treats I hold them and they both sit in front of me and Majic gets hers first then Dex gets his its very bizarre-why can't she speak!!!!
