ok, after earlier establishing that pedigree complete was the wrong choice for bailey, we are looking into what to switch too. Bailey is 10 weeks old today.
So far we are considering burns and nature diet. we would love to do BARF but having read through web pages and the posts on here, its all very daunting, especially as we go away alot. complete food with some meat, seems to be the way forward.

any recommndations, or thoughts etc about whats good for pup? thanks

HI- i would definitely recommend Burns- it has done wonders for Piper- his coat is shiny and his behaviour is better than when he was on Pedigree!

Also I have to mention the fact that Burns is one of the only companies to follow humane practices (search 'animal testing' on the forums and you will see what I mean!!!)

And of course the food is natural and has no nasty additives!!

If you do go with Burns then buy it online- it comes in 2 days and is cheaper than buying the small bags in the shops!

Obviously whatever food you change to make sure you do it gradually!

we go away roughly every other weekend, sometimes camping, sometimes in a caravan, occassionally staying with friends. Feeding BARF isn't a chore as you can get what you need just about anywhere, if you're only away over a long weekend it's still easy. The whole diet balances out over a longer period rather than each and every morsel they eat and Labs are usually pretty adaptable when it comes to food. I was really worried when I first started but it's really easy whe you get used to it, honest Very Happy

I personally think wet food is only meant for owners with strong stomachs or a very large peg AAAGGHHH! Yeukkkk!!!!
Jet eats Naturediet under protest he went offchappie the only wet food I can tolerate due to years of using it, but would much prefer pasta/rice with chicken /eggs/mackerel/pilchards or tuna thankyou kindly SSSSSSSOOOO fussy Embarassed Rolling Eyes Embarassed
Willow dustbin that she is, has saved us pounds and pounds while trying to find food Jet will eat- using up what he wont. Currently Autarky with added mackerel in sunflower oil 3 times a week as her skin has become dry- used to use Nutro which was very good and didnt need the mackerel only she's spoiled.
Burns she'll eat too. Just as well she can move from one to another or mix it up she doesnt seem to care and her digestive system doesnt cause any problems either- just as well as she started out by pinching Jets food!!

I too would highly recommend Burns, Danny absolutely loves it and is in excellent condition. His coat is really shiney and his teeth sparklng, his toilet habits are a lot more regular and predictable too...

Corbie was on Autarky for puppy until 6 months and then adult and that did him really good too. Similar to Burns in that it's all natural ingrdients, etc but cheaper as classifed vat-free for working dogs.

More info here (which is where I got mine from):
Autarky

I would suggest Burns or Autarky too. Abbey had done really well on Burns although her poo's have never been totally firm on it. (Theres always one !! ) it is supposed to firm up their poo's !!
So at the moment i am changing her gadually over to Autarky which she loves and her poos have become firmer.
Autarky is half the price of Burns too !
