I would go with your own instinct. Every dog is different, but you shouldn`t be abl to see her ribs sticking out, that is definitely not a healthy weight.

Vets like to think that they know everything, and for most medical problems they are great, but every dog is individual and there are no set rules for how much a dog should weigh.

Feed her up, she`ll look a lot healthier with a couple of extra kilos on her.

Scooby is 20 months and I just got him weighed last week at the vets and he is 29kgs but is leggy and slim - maybe his weight is due to muscle as he runs around a lot outside with the horses.

Hi I have a 9 month Old Chocolate Labrador, Teah. We have just come back from the vets after a check up following her being spayed. He
weighed her and she is 28Kg. She does not look overweight to me and I can see her ribs when she is standing up. Both her mother and father were beautifullly built large labs and I think that she is going to turn out the same. I am worried about her turning into one of the "barrow" like labradors that you see waddling along in the park. At the moment I feed her 3/4 of a Natures Menu Pouch mixed with Dean's Mixer twice a day. What foods are your labs on to keep them fit and healthy? Any advice greatly appreciated.
