Hi Anthea,

So pleased she's home and doing ok, Sasha is beautiful. At least now she can rest and get better. It must be hard for you seeing her leg all bandaged up like that, and other people that care about her too must feel sad....these labs are so precious aren't they. Hope you both have a peaceful night anyway.

Bye for now

Julie

Hi there everyone - how are we all?

Just a quick update really - sorry I have not been online to update sooner but I had to go back to work this morning... but don't worry, my other half has taken time off work to stay with her so Sasha is never on her own at the moment!!
The last few nights have been difficult. Sasha has been in obvious pain - whimpering, trembling etc, and I was so scared that the Rimadyl wasn't doing enough. They had put a bandage on the whole leg, but it was making life very hard for Sasha. She couldn't bend it in anyway so she couldn't get comfy at all, gthe leg was getting caught on the door frame on her way out to the toilet and so on. So because it was starting to come off anyway, I removed it yesterday, and boy am I glad I did. Her leg was an awful colour so the bandage must have been cutting off her circulation. But her leg got back to normal by the end of the night so that's all OK now.

She's alot perkier tonight. not so much depressed thank god. Gareth bought her a BIGGG bone earlier so we seem to have distracted her with that for the moment lol. And now she is sleeping.

incidentally, the entire bill came to £2,400!!!

Thanks to you all for your kind words. Sasha and I are very appreciative Smile

Watch this space for next update....

Hi Anthea

Glad to hear that Sasha is on the mend - it sounds like she is being VERY well looked after! I'm sure it has been a very difficult time for you but I'm sure she is very grateful for everything you've done.

All the best to you all,
Nicola and a doggy cuddle & woof from Smudge!

Well hello smudge, dylan, bradley, max and all our other chums on here Smile

Sorry its been a few days... hope it hasnt taken you this long to change your beds Lynne lol! How's Dylan getting on?

Sasha is doing very well indeed. Her pain relief was reduced from 2 rimadyl a day to just 1 a day as of yesterday. And to be honest, she is coping really well!! She's becoming more daring and putting a bit more weight on the leg too. Only thing is at the moment the wounds are healing so becoming itchy itchy!! I can't leave her on her own as she insists on licking and scratching to her hearts content!! For anyone who has a dog that does this and makes the skin all sore, SUDOCREM Antiseptic Healing Cream works absolute wonders!!! Not only for the sore bits, but on the dry skin too that develops as a result of having the fur shaved off.

Just awaiting the results from the lipoma that was removed from her armpit at the same time. Should be getting a call anytime...

Ill log back on later when i have more info x

Hi everyone

Im so sorry that I havent been on for a few days... Nothing too sinister I promise.

Sashy's results on the lipoma were fab - nothing to worry about...

However, she is back at the specialists today following some complications yesterday. I took her for her stitches out yesterday, and in the space of about 10 hours, a lump had appeared on the knee where the TPLO had taken place. It was the vet who pointed it out, but he said he didnt want to touch it in case he caused any infection. He said it was likely to be a seroma (??) a blister like occurance which should go down in a week or so.

For peace of mind, I called my specialists this morning and they wanted her straight in as they are worried about it being an abcess. I have had to leave her there and come home alone Surprised( She should be home today though which is good news... just waiting to hear what they find...

In the meantime, I hope everyone is keeping well!! Love the new piccy Julie... goodness me Brad is one very handsome young man!! Oh and incidentally, I think I have talked my other half into letting us get a caravan ha ha. We're only gonna spend £500-£1,000 for a good starter van but this way, we can take sashy on holidays with us, and maybe our rabbits too lol Surprised)

Hope sasha is ok,i'm sure it's nothing to worry about and great news about the limpoma, dylan fast asleep on the landing as he's had a traumatic day,did a runner into the pond with megan and lucy his labby girlfriends so had to have a shower as he was rancid, but now smells of apple doggy shampoo then went for a trip to Bettws-y-coed(swallow falls) so he is shattered anyway still sends huge sloppy kiss to sasha, take care.Lynne.
