This months special award goes to a special Lab called Mambo. Here, his owner Monya, tells us why she nominated him for this award:
Monya writes:
I would like to nominate Mambo as Lab of the Month. Last June i lost my best friend Rachel very suddenly. The first i knew was a phone call to say her 6yr old son had not been picked up from school so i knew something was wrong. I started calling everyone i could think of looking for her but no one had seen her i even called the police station & hospitals but nothing. By then i was sure something serious had happened & eventually her flat was broken into & she was found dead in her bathroom.
She had died so suddenly the doctors think she would of just blacked out as she had a blocked artiary & she had probably died that morning shortly after her son went to school. I was devastated at the time we met i had just moved into the flat next door to hers. We were both single parents recovering from bad relationships & i had just moved into a new area & had no family close by. She became like family - our kids played together started school together & we were always there for each other. When she died i felt lost & just didnt know how to look forward again.
When i went through the hard times before she was the one that always helped me out but she wasnt here this time & i couldnt do it alone. It turns out i didnt have to. That''s when Mambo came to us and i know what ever i say now will never really explain how much hes done for me but he changed my life completely. He''s always there - it dosent matter how i''m feeling he''ll be only to happy to come and sit with me for a cuddle and he never fails to put a smile on my face.
He''s worth his weight in gold, it''s corny i know but i feel he''s more than our pet. He had a purpose when he came to us and we were meant to be in each others lives. Words cannot explain how much he''s done or what he means to me. I will never forget Rachel and i still miss her and think about her all the time, but now i can remember the good times we had.
That''s all down to Mambo, so thats why i think he deserves to be lab of the month.
