OK, so she isnt BUT she is a VERY SKINNY blonde (see how I made the connection?! )
She is now on 2x meals a day. She has one tin of chappie at each meal. For the first time since I have had her she has nice firm poo (sorry) and no popping off. It really agrees with her.
I give her maybe a handful of treats throughout the day, which takes its form in Gusto dried food. That is what I use for her training or maybe in a kong in the day.
She gets the occasional pig ear or naughty treat (such as chicken or a sausage from the BBQ ) but I am quite strict with her food.
She is all skinny though and I can see her ribs. Should I give her 3x tins of chappie a day? She would eat 10 if I let her but I do worry that she is too thin.
She gets diareah really easily so I worry about too much of a change. Any suggestions?

Has she only just started to look skinny or has it been a gradual thing? I just wondered if maybe the stress with Raven might have caused a little bit of weight loss??
Nic, just taken a look through Joeys album and they are very similar in build. I guess where people comment on how thin she is I am getting a bit paranoid.

Hi
Amber is and always has been a very 'ribby' dog, we can always see her last three ribs easily! After we got Sadie we had to up her from one meal a day back to two as she had got very thin and she has put some weight on recently. I'm watching with interest to see if her BARF diet will make any difference. I presume barley is up to date with her wormers? It's easy to forget and after we last wormed the dogs amber definitely picked up a little. I reckon it's just like people - we all have an 'ideal weight' but some people are naturally thinner and some fatter. So long as she has plenty of energy then she's fine.
