Thanks from Zadie & I too. Would appreciate any links to more info as we usually walk in farmland with lots of ditches etc (as well as a running stream - phew at least one lot of water that I don't need to worry about!) and my girl is a compulsive paddler.

oh god. Just logged on today and read this.
Right, this morning, Leo was in the pond by my house.
Its really large, and its very still. At the edges are this sort of green floaty stuff, almost like floating mould..
Leo swam in this pond today......... And now im getting a bit worried after seeing this post....
He has swam in the pond before and there has never been any problems, well, iv never seen any symptoms anyway....
Do you think everything will be alright? Should i just keep an eye on him?

Usually the toxic blooms occur in warm weather.....I don't know whereabouts you are.....is it / has it been warm?
If Leo has swam in it in the past was it autumn / winter.....in those cooler temperatures the blooms are not present.....
