wave Ruby hasnt been as keen on her food for the last few days - all was fine then we went camping this weekend (6 people 5 dogs in case you havet read the thread) and on sunday morning she wouldnt eat her breakfast at the campsite - I assumed this was due to too much going on and it being a far too exciting weekend. Sundya we got home and I gave her another bowl of food which she picked at and then ate some - I left it down and she finished it off a few hours later. Sunday evening same kind of thing.

Yesterday she was better but not eating with the same kind of enthusiasm as she used to - this morning again she left a few bits in there which is unheard of.

Now do you think she is still all tired and excited from the weekend or could there be a problem? She is nearly 9 months old and on burns - I am feeding her slightly over the recommended amount should I reduce it a little or wait a week or so for her to settle back down?

Hmmmmmmm

I`d try reducing the amount for a while Vicky, could be a mixture of the excitement and possibly eating something she shouldn`t at the campsite.

From what your saying she`s telling you she doesn`t need as much at the moment Smile

Edited yo say: if she starts to lose weight or your still worried about Ruby, a trip to the vets may be in order, hopefully won`t come to that, as I said just seems she does`nt want the amount she used to Smile

Hi Vicky

Rubbs could be sulking ? She had such a good time and now you, naughty mum, has taken her away from her pals and the water... Wink

Try sprinkling hot water ( not boiling as destroys the vitamins ) to creat a wafty aroma...or mix up a pilchard in tom sauce in with her food, making sure to smear sauce all round edges so she cleans the bowl too....

Just ba couple of ideas Very Happy

oohhhh Rhoni you may be onto something - she has been really huffy since we got home (she really bonded with her pall Kyra and think she is a little in love with Dan and Bailey Wink )

She keep trying to play with the cat like she did with Kyra Shocked hehe wow cant believe she really could be sulking though thought it was just my imagination.

Nushka sulks sometimes, she is just like a spoilt kid if things dont go her way she can make you feel very guilty. Hope Ruby feels better soon.

I would give her 15 mins to eat her food then remove it Vicky and carry on like this, Majic went through a stage of this at Ruby's age and we did this ay and within a few days sh obviously thought she better eat it all or there is nothing else till next meal time, yes we didn't give her any treats either. Sad

Cruel to be kind. Very Happy

I know how you feel Vicky, having had Corbie do this. Although we found out there was something wrong with the food, and then I felt bad for making him eat it Embarassed He lost a bit of weight then too because of that, but I think I've finally managed to get it back on him. Laughing

I agree with Carroll, Vicky. I think pigs would fly before Joey would do this, but its probably the course of action I'd take.

Are you reducing her food in line with the adult amount too? Joey should now be on about 12g per kg because he is 10 months so I assume Ruby should be on 13g?

Joey's growing really really slowed down at around 8 months and so he hasn't needed to eat as much - maybe Ruby is doing the same?

Just a few ideas........! Very Happy
