>> Decembers 'Lab of the Month'

bradleysmum writes "Last month, we awarded our very special ''Lab of the month'' award to a lovely lab called Majic. Below, her owner Carroll who contacted us back in September, tells us why she nominated Majic for this award.
Carroll writes:
"I would like to nominate Majic for lab of the month The poor girl has been to the vets every week since May with on going, seasonal, pollen, food allergies which contribute to other problems, allergies to medication for said allergies, various infections after spaying and then allergies to anti biotics and now an infected cut paw which will probably involve her going under sedation to have it scrubbed clean and redressed for the third time then more anti biotics which she has to have although they make her itch and miserable to hopefully iradicate the infection.
Through all this she shows me her waggy tail and really makes the effort to be her normal happy self when at times she must be suffering quite a lot with her various ailments. She has accepted Dexter from day one and really is a lab in a million who has been through so much starting last Christmas when she was 6 months old. We love her to bits."

>> Septembers Lab Of The Month
Posted by julieadmin on Thursday, September 14 @ 11:08:08 BST (594 reads)
bradleysmum writes "Well, as you probably all know, each month we get many nominations from members who feel their Lab or someone else''s Lab, deserves that little bit of extra recognition. This is where we have set up the award for ''Lab of the Month'' and i''m very happy to tell you that this month, we have chosen Dudley, to win this special award.
Here Becs tells us why.
Becs writes:
I would like to nominate Dudley -my last DftD (Dogs For The Disabled) pup as Lab of the Month, not because he has done anything heroic (yet!) nor for battling through hardship or an illness, but just because he was unfailingly cheerful, always made me laugh and was my best mate for the year that I spent with him.
Dudley didn''t come to me to start his puppy socialising year until he was 11 weeks old, which is late for a DftD pup. This was because his breeder had ''ran him on'' with a view to him becoming a stud dog. However, due to a funny jaw line, Dudley was destined never to be a ''love machine''! Dudley came into my life like a little bomb-proof tank! Nothing ever fazed him - To Dud''s the world was just one big playground packed with besty- mates just waiting for him to say hi to."

>> August's Lab Of The Month

bradleysmum writes "This month, our special award for 'Lab of the Month' goes to another very special Lab called Kimmy. Well done Kimmy, your award & pressie are on there way to you.
Below, Kimmy's owner Ann, tells us why she nominated him for this award:
Ann writes:
"I would like to nominate my yellow lab Kimmy. He has just passed his Pets As Therapy assessment which surprised us all. But mainly he has changed my daughter Stephanie's world.
She is disabled and Kimmy has given her so much more confidence. She now feels that she is the same as her piers and that she is now their equal. We are hoping that in the future Kimmy will be trained by Support Dogs and become Steph's skilled companion, to help her open doors, change clothes etc. On May the 15 it was a year since we had Kimmy and as we got him when he was just 10 weeks old.
We would just like to say a big thank you to Kimmy for making our family complete and for given so much to Stephanie - he is now her best friend."
