Labrador Forums is a fantastic place to learn about labradors ask a question and just share you labs mischievous daily acitivities with other like minded labraholics. As a community we are very much aware that not all Labs are as lucky as ours and are thrown out like rubbish when they are no longer required. Instead of sitting there doing nothing we are doing something!!!!!!
Many Tears Rescue are based in Wales and they do fabulous work - if you arent aware of their work please visit them at www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/
Many Tears Rescue run a Scheme called Buy A Life - and Labrador Forums would like to raise enough funds TOGETHER so we can Buy a Life as a Lab community.
For all of those who cannot afford to give much and those who cannot add another dog at this time THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP
We are aksing for a donation of £1 (more would be gratefully received) from everybody - the cost of saving a life is £125 (details below)
COME ON EVERYONE CAN SPARE £1
If you would like to join in please come join us a www.labradorforums.co.uk and see details on this thread http://www.labradorforums.co.uk/ftopic-13154.html
Buy a life. details taken from Many Tears website
Perhaps you would like to help, but cannot take on a dog, or already have "too many" to take on another. In this case, you may like to pay for a dog to be saved. Your money would pay for all necessary inoculations, the spaying or neutering of the dog, and new lead and collar.
You would receive a picture of the dog you saved along with his or her history, and when homed, you would be told. Many people choose to do this as a present for a friend or family. In the past, classes of schools, office workers, and various other groups of people have clubbed together and donated to the "buy a life" fund.
The cost of the "buy a Life" is £125, a lot of money, but very little to save a life!
We would need to know the name and address you would wish for your” buy a Life" picture and information to be sent to, along with a cheque made payable to Many Tears Animal Rescue.

>> MOT Your Labrador Now To Protect It's Future
Posted by julieadmin on Saturday, February 25 @ 12:40:50 GMT (750 reads)
bradleysmum writes "Story as written by Rhoni Elmore, from www.lostlabs.com
Hi everyone,
During my time with Lost Labs and the wonderful people I have met we have all found identifying a dog for the owner can be very difficult at the best of times and is compounded if there is no microchip or tattoo present or where the last photo was a puppy pic for example.
Even if your pet is chipped they can migrate or simply stop working over a period of time.
With the numbers of stolen dogs having risen to approx 250 a month it is a sad fact that as dog lovers we need to go beyond the realms of yestayear to protect our pets.
Apart from the microchipping and the ever increasing popularity of Tattooing, there is a growing and necessary thought pattern of all those connected with any form of missing dogs to take extra measures to protect our dogs.
So, sit down one day with your pet and just spend half an hour going over him. Note everything down. "

bradleysmum writes "Labradorforums ' Lab Link Rescue ', is a breed specific database for Lab Rescues and also helping to save and transport Labradors in need.
The LLR is here for the use and benefit of all Labrador Rescues, rescuers and volunteers alike.
The ethos is simplicity itself. The forums are merely a vehicle to house everyone. Every interested Lab rescue will have their own section to run their own concern. They can place their own Labs on, remove, update and will have their own contact details. Essentially the same as they run within their own websites"
