Hi there -

Our dog's sire is Endacott Shelf - out of Holbatch Squib. Finn is a lovely dog, with a superb retrieval instinct. We don't work him, but if he had been trained up I'm sure he would have been excellent (not that I am biased!).

As Diana has said, your bitch will have to have been hip/elbow/eye checked - is she from a field trial line as well?

Finn (our dog) is a slim build and very long (destructive) tail. The only negative to him is that he is quite nervy. We socialised him via puppy class & frequent trips out etc, but he was ganged up on as a pup by other dogs. He has got much better with other dogs, but is wary of people without dogs - men in particular. Because of his working breeding, he has lots of energy - he is a clever dog and really quick to learn - so we spend a lot of time keeping him entertained!

Finn's breeder is very much part of the working circuit and Andy Latham happened to be in her part of the country, enabling necessary health/compatibility checks to be carried out & mating to occur.

Hope this has helped.

Jodie

Smile Endecott Shelf

Hi
My 9 week old black bitch Beau is descended from Endacott Shelf she's a beauty and seems a bright spark so far, she loves the clicker method of training and switches to work mode immediately when she sees it in my hand. Good luck with your quest

Shelf was bred by a good friend of mine, Anne Courtier. Sadly Anne is no longer breeding or trialing her dogs, which to me is a big loss to the breed. Her dogs were always very biddable and great game finders. Seems hard to believe there will be no more Endacott dogs.

Regards, John
